Companion Diocese
Each Sunday we pray for our Companion Diocese of the Northern Philippines. In particular, we pray for our partner churches of St. Andrew’s Mission, Patiacan, & St. Cyril of Jerusalem Mission, Bab-asig, and their priest, the Rev. Loncio Sapiil.
These churches are growing and assisting their communities in a number of ways (more on that, next week!)

Indigenous Justice
St. Alban’s and the Diocese of New Westminster seek justice for, and reconciliation with, Indigenous peoples. Find out more.
Second Street School
This Christmas we provided hampers for families at Second Street School.
Talitha Koum
Each year we fill stockings for the residents of Talitha Koum. Find out more.
Talitha Koum is a non-profit society operating two recovery homes for women. We are unique in allowing our clients to live with their young children so they can accompany their mothers as they journey on the path to recovery from their addictions. We offer spiritually rich, 12-step addiction-recovery programming, augmented by life-skills training, counselling, and arts and crafts. Key to our success is our practice of “loving our clients back to living.”
Foster Child
St. Alban’s supports a foster child. Twice a year the foster child board is updated with current pictures and a brief outline of how our foster child is progressing.
Our current foster child’s village is now self sufficient in Guatemala and a new child will be forward to us shortly to continue another fostering journey with them.
Sandwich Project
We are continuing to provide food for the homeless and less fortunate in our community.
We’ve had to make some changes during the pandemic, but our usual routine was to meet each month in the church hall to make sandwiches/buns and fill goody bags with fruit, snack bars, puddings and a fruit drink.
These were then taken to Southside Community Church in the Kingsway Edmonds area for distribution by Community Outreach Services to the homeless and people in need.
Each year 1200 sandwiches and 600 goody bags are made up for distribution.
Primates World Relief and Development Fund
The word “Primate” is an old word that refers to our “Primary” church leadership, the National Archbishop, whose office started this fund. PWRDF is a program of the Anglican Church of Canada. PWRDF is the Anglican response for emergency relief, refugees, development and justice. PWRDF focuses on both short term help for emergencies and also long-term development needs around the world working in partnership with local communities and organizations ‘on the ground’ in the area.
Through our giving to PWRDF members of St. Alban’s are able to help people around the world!
